Peace in my heart - 1 year ago

My niece bought this flooring and it is lovely and looking great.
So I bought it also and I'm very pleased.

Nice floor but a nightmare to fit

We bought 18 boxes to cover our living room, we bought it in a 3-4-2 sale, so the price was very competitive. The flooring looks great once it's down, however, there is a manufacturing issue with the planks - there is approx 1mm difference between the width of some of the planks. So you have to make sure that you only do a row of the wider planks, or a row of the more narrow ones at a time - measuring each plank before laying. If you don't, you start to develop gaps in the flooring and it eventually starts to throw all the lines off. We wasted quite a lot of time having to measure each piece or removing planks where we hadn't noticed the manufacturing fault until it was in place. There were also a few random damaged pieces but we mostly managed to use these in places where we could cut the planks to size and use the none damaged end etc.
It took a long time to lay the flooring, but once it's down it feels very sturdy underfoot, was a good price and looks great. We are overall happy with the flooring, but I'm not sure we would buy it again due to the manufacturing flaws causing so many issues and making the job take a lot longer than necessary to get a good finish.

This is budget quality. Not terrible

Purchased for a hallway to replace laminate. Relatively straightforward to lay (glued joints to.prevent spead when wood shrinks or expands etc)... for 2 days it was lovely but after that time some of the edges bowed upwards so u can feel ridges under your feet. Not the end of the world but still.a nuisance although it resembles more a natural.solid oak floor now. For an extra £10 per pack i wish i had purchased a better product. It'll do for a few years until i redecorate again. Would i recommend? Possibly... but take heed of the above.
