HardieBacker Cement Board is a backerboard for tile and stone, used as an alternative for plasterboard for tiling floors, bathrooms/wet rooms and masonry walls. Backerboard can also be used to tile bath panels or as a decorative lining sheet for multi-fuel/log burning stove installations

Safety Information
During fabrication operate outdoors or in well ventilated space in a separate area if available or away and down-wind from other operatives
Use low speed, low dust cutting tools – Score-and snap-knife, HardieGuillotine®, HardieBlade® fitted to a circular saw connected to a dust extraction HEPA filter vacuum cleaner (see James Hardie® tools).
When cutting, drilling or abrading always wear a FFP2/3 dust control or full face mask adjusted and fitted in conformity with regulatory recommendations and affixed with CE marking and/or fully certified to the relevant EN standards if applicable
Keep the working environment clean and remove debris as soon as possible
At the end of the operation remove dust from clothes, tools and work area with a HEPA filter vacuum cleaner or damp with water to suppress the dust before sweeping.

The way forward
If i bought a new build house with studded walls of plasterboard, this is definitely the way i would go. I decided to go for these boards because I have just had my bathroom completely stripped back to the brickwork, which actually wasn't the intention, but the plasterboard which held the tiles fast had other ideas. At least with this, I benefit from new fittings be truly secure, and when I decide I've had enough of these new tiles, they will come away easier without affecting the boards. What's not to like about them, other than they are obviously heavier than a plasterboard?

Best Backerboard
The best backerboard at a sensible price. Dont buy other brands as they are no where near as good as Hardie.

No issues as it should be. Good square edges. Easy cut with thin porcelain diamond blade.

Good product, dismal customer service
Product was fine thanks but the service was awful, it seems to be designed to deter customers from using Tradepoint and it’s certainly worked on me. I ordered these wallboards, (which are quite heavy), click and collect and went to the Tradepoint loading area when I got the message that is was ready to collect. The chap at the counter said ‘click and collect pick ups are at the main counter, (which is the opposite end of the building). I know from experience that this particular chap isn’t that helpful so I went to tell the other other counter staff where my van was but, following a radio conversation with her colleagues, she just said that the boards were on their way and she couldn’t redirect them so I would need to move my van! She actually said ‘by the time you move your van the boards will be at the counter ready to load. So I moved my van and then had to wait another 10 minutes for the boars to arrive! Only B and Q could come up with such a system that is clearly designed for the convenience of their own staff and not their customers. Anyway, I’ve found another, more customer friendly supplier not too far away now, who actually let me pull the van up to the storage area and help me load it, what a difference that makes when you’re loading plasterboards on your own.

Solid great product
