Johnstone’s Trade Aqua Water Based Gloss is a professional-grade gloss paint designed for interior and exterior use on wood and metal. Aqua Gloss offers the traditional appearance and resilience of a solvent-based gloss, while benefiting from a modern water-based formulation. It holds a tough, durable finish, with low odour and low VOC.

- Suitable for use on Metal & wood surfaces
- Surface Preparation - All surfaces to be painted should be clean, dry and free from loose and flaking material. Rub down previously painted surfaces with fine waterproof abrasive paper and rinse thoroughly. Avoid the inhalation of dust. Wear a suitable face mask if dry sanding.
- Instructions for Use - Ensure good ventilation during application and drying. Stir well befre use. Esy to apply by brush or roller. Avoid overspreading. Do not apply in temperatures below 10oC or externally when rain is imminent. For best results use a synthetic brush.

I would use again this product
Great paint. I have managed to do all My window seals and all my door frames in one go. Smells like any other paint. It doesn’t come off that easy and it’s thick. It was also easy to clean up after work

Dry so quick. Great finish
I have tried this paint on my kitchen table. And just after 1 coat it was looking like new. The consistency is so good it didnt make any mess, it was super easy to handle and because it’s water based it was so easy to clean from th le floor. It doesn’t have any bad odour. And it dries so so fast. I would highly recommend it

Good gloss
Love this gloss. Went on really well and didn’t drip hardly, I’m rubbish at painting but even I made this look ok on my skirting boards. Needed 2 coats though.

Perfect.
The colour is perfect and super easy to work with, the texture is smooth and there is no strong smell from using it. Happy with the results and highly recommend.

Great gloss
This gloss is amazing i used it for the skirts around my ceiling and it only needed one coat and it doesnt have that strong gloss smell and dried super quick

Clean and fresh
Rolls on very smoothly and easily covers well took two coats drying time between coats was 2 hours the appearance is very clean and fresh and washes down stains very well

Gloss
This water-based gloss gives a nice bright, high-sheen finish and goes on smoother than many solvent gloss alternatives. It’s formulated to behave more like traditional gloss but dries fast (touch dry ~1–2 hrs, recoat ~4–6 hrs). Consistency: Easy to apply with a brush, roller or spray — reasonably thick with good flow and levelling, so you can get even coverage without too many drips. Adhesion: Sticks well to prepared wood and metal, especially if used over a compatible water-based undercoat. The Paint Shed Odour: Nice low odour and low VOC formula, much less overpowering than traditional solvent gloss. Cleanup: Brushes and rollers clean up easily with water before the paint dries. Dawes Paints Touch-ups: Because it’s quick-drying and water-based, touch-ups are straightforward — just stir and apply another light coat. Overall a solid choice for indoor woodwork/metalwork with good sheen and easier handling than old-style gloss.

Works well
Scratch resistance and great coverage. No sagging and easy levelling. Good washability when dry only needs a couple of coats to look great i recommend
