Not great

Not great really hard to get the pads as well.....

Jon421 - 1 / 5 - 07/12/2023

Not recommended

Turns at roughly the speed of light when no load is on it. Absolutely scours things clean for two seconds, but after that it struggles to turn at all even under just its own weight.

Great Sander

I bought this sander after borrowing my sons, when my old one broke down, it was excellent, and will be using it again soon

Great bit of kit for car panels

Bought to sand down kit car panels for repair. As a novice DIY kinda guy, I figured it was worth the risk rather than spend hundreds on a pro-grade Mirka model. Very pleased. No obvious scratches (consistent sanding action). Only issue is the dust extractor keeps falling out when connected to the vacuum, it is a very poor design. Gaffa tape sorted it.

Nice little sander

Does the job and good value for money. It’s on the weighty side and would be better if it was cordless.

used it to sand a desk.

I have a few MacAllister tools but this one I was not sure about, but my brother in-law has one and he has used it sanding plaster & furniture in his new home and it is still working. .Mine I sanded a desk and my daughter now has it - hope- no- will get it back

Great addition to the tool box!

Love this sander. Bought as a low price entry level orbital to experiment with while I work on various projects before making more costly investments for a planned workshop. Right now I can't see a need to replace! It has sanded vintage oak and pine to a fantastic finish. Has handled a heavily painted/varnished old dresser, a badly scored table and scaffolding boards. I've just ordered polishing/buffing pads to test it for that side of things too. For those saying it stops working when you put pressure on, you don't need to! If you're using the right discs for the job it does the work for you. I have weakness in my right hand due to life changing injury and have no problem with this baby. Does what it's designed for.
