Spruce CLS Timber
Have to sort through the stack to find the straightest one. Look out for knots if only varnishing.

Adequate once blemishes were sorted.
Average quality and finish. Several knots, and places where the planing had torn the wood surface. Adequate for the purpose it was needed for. Used to make a 'mantelpiece' to cover the top edge of a drop-leaf shelf in a Grade 2 listed building. OK once the blemishes were filled, and everything sanded to a decent finish before cutting to the final profile and painting.

This product is not great.
I purchased 4 lengths about a week ago and struggled to find any that were completely straight. As my project didn't require full lengths I was able to use shorter pieces although I still had to make adjustments. Perhaps there's a QC problem somewhere in the supply chain. This variability in quality might be OK for larger construction projects but not for me unfortunately.

Great product
I bought this few weeks ago to attach plywood from a bunk bed to ceiling it was easy to cut and install it i have painted it and it looks pleasing to the eye it hasn't split and gripped well to both board and ceiling with no movement very pleased with the product

This wood has allowed for a deck to be built and stable. B&Q ALWAYS maintain brilliant quality staff are so helpful and never make me feel stupid when I have no idea ofxthe dimensions etc.my husband is the DIY one but sends me with a list and nothing else
