Not great

Not great…. 2 pathetic little sachets of mixer for a large tin of filler… Not worth the expense.

Better than expected

You need to work quickly when mixing larger quantities ! The hardener volume makes a huge difference to working time, put too much in and it sets very quickly. My advice is plan how your will apply it before you mix it. Practise the swipes before you mix!

Wood Filler

It did exactly what it said on the tub. Perfect result.

Ronseal Wood Filler

I purchased this wood filler to repair the bridge over my pond and it did the job perfectly.

Essential

It is expensive but well, I suppose, worth it and easy to sand to get a smooth paintable surface. Within an hour you can fill, smooth, fill and smooth several times to perfection. Only negative is the old marketing trick that the tin is only half full or so. Get over the implied rip off and you quickly appreciate the product

Works well but check for tube of hardener

I have used this a lot for filling deep holes in wood quickly. However, check that the tube of hardener is there under the plastic lid. Just picked up one in B&Q Click and Collect, got home and found that some thief had stolen hardener. Infuriating.

Brilliant product

I have been buying this for at least 10 years, mainly to try and keep old wooden windows from rotting away. Firstly I always dig out rotten bits and use ronseal wood hardener on exposed wood. It is equally good for filling large holes and small areas. Setting time is dependent on the amount of hardener used. Can be as quick as 5 minutes or up to 20 minutes to set. For deep holes I apply in stages and sand between applications. To get a perfect finish this needs to be done several times. Don't expect it to match surrounding wood if varnishing or staining but it paints identically to surrounding wood. It can also be nailed or screwed. A very hardy product which will last and last.

Great wood filler

Great wood filler that is quick to use a fills gaps etc to a solid finish. I see reviews about is setting too fast and have found the best tip is to work in small sections and add layers for larger gaps and cracks. Not easy to use but I haven’t found a better wood filler.

Good stuff

It does exactly what it says on the tin. Sets good and hard

Great job

I used it to fill in two wide & deep holes in the woodwork in my hallway followed the instructions & it’s now my go to filler. It cures quickly ( but not so fast that it becomes unworkable ) into a solid mass & sands down well. As recommended i used white spirits alongside wire wool to clean off filler knifes in between filling up the holes. I genuinely don’t understand the negative reviews.
