Worth spending some time finding straight pieces
B&Q is famous for wonky wood, so it's well worth checking this before you leave store. In this case I found the two straightest lengths in a pack of eight and bought those. Used to reframe a door converted to a slider. Cheap, soft wood, easy to work.

Wonky
I bought this to use as a batten for a heavy blind. I bought it in a rush . It was so bent that I barely got enough material for what I needed. I could've taken it back but the others weren't much better.

Bit of wood in a rectangular shape
It's a bit of wood. It costs quite a lot for a bit of wood. It's good that they sell them by the stick as well as by the pack, as about half the loose ones have issues, like knots or damage. That's because everyone opens the packs and takes the good ones. Do that. Bit of wood. In a rectangular shape. Not sure what else to say really

Good quality PSE
Needed for shelving, ordered online which was easy. On collection it was straight and not many knots either. Would buy again.

Good quality material
Good quality wood. Needed to search through units available to find truly straight pieces for the project I was working on - in general timber is of good quality - I was just very picky!
