Product information

This Pure brilliant white satin wood & metal paint has been specially designed to give a durable and long-lasting finish on a range of surfaces. Simply apply 2 coats with a brush, roller or spray and leave for 1 hour to dry - a great way to give the surfaces additional protection. Covers 25 m² per litre on average.

  • Suitable for Metal & wood
  • The surface must be clean, dry, free of dust and grease. Glossy surfaces should be deglossed before painting. Repair all damaged areas. Remove old, loose or flaky paint. Cover the surrounding area whilst decorating to provide protection against paint spills. For best results, seal new, bare-wood surfaces with Valspar® interior primer and undercoat. New, fresh plaster must be sealed with Valspar® interior primer & undercoat prior to painting. Other bare, absorbent surfaces must be sealed with primer or a first coat of this product prior to applying the finishing coat

Features and benefits

At B&Q we want you to be satisfied with your colour selection. Not all monitors will display colours the same and paint tins may not show the same colour as your walls do in natural light. We therefore recommend you order a tester pot online or pop in store to pick one up so you are sure that this is the right colour for you.

  • Scrubbable
  • Outstanding flow and levelling
  • Tough and durable
  • Excellent coverage
  • Non-Yellowing

I've sworn by Valspa satin for all my wood work for years. Suddenly is disappears off the shelf for months...dribbled back in the from of some watered down rubbish that's literally good for nothing. 3 coats later and zero impact on all surfaces. Its like they took their last tin of paint and watered the living daylights out of it! I'd of had more "brilliant white" if I used cling film! Even toothpaste has better coverage that this cods wallop! It closer resembles watered down PVA now! If you have the patience of a monk, and a thin door you need to thicken up with thousands of layers over a period of several years of constant painting, then Look no further!

Did not adhere to well prepared wood. I had to scrape and peel it off. Where it did stick it showed brush marks. I’ll never use B&Q valspar again - appalling.

Disappointing

I am a big fan of Valspar paint, having used it on walls/ceilings many times and also had their colour-matched woodwork paint, which was excellent. However, this feels cheap and dries to a sheen rather than satin finish. Three coats have proved insufficient to give satisfactory coverage, and after three days it's still too soft to rub down.

Very poor value

Only 4 pounds cheaper than Dulux trade satin, gave this a try. Coverage very poor, very watery. I didn’t find it took longer to dry than any other water based paint but did dry more like a gloss finish, Leyland water based Eggshell way better quality and nicer finish.

Takes a day to dry and still looks glossy. Wouldn’t recommend.
