More than enough power
Bought this yesterday, along with the erbauer diamond cutting disc, to cut 3.5 cm thick paving stones. Cut through with ease at about 30 secs per paver with a clean straigh cut. Easy to swap out discs and although it is a bulky bit of kit it was sturdy and safe to handle. Cannot fault it for cutting pavers, with straight cuts. Beware of the dust it produces but using a hosepipe helped reduce that.

great value
Yes, very good value when compared to better known machines. I like the "soft start" feature that gradually increases the speed of rotation. I changed the blade to a "diamond" type for cutting concrete and it took me a little while to realise that the instructions for fitting the blade holder are only applicable for the thicker "composite" blades the supply with the machine. The diamond blade needs to be fitted with the holder the other way round.

SAFETY WARNING - beware of 2mm disks
The description says "Takes 230mm diameter x 22mm bore cutting discs" this is only partly true as it will not clamp 2mm disks and if you attempt to use them, then it dangerous to use as the cutting wheel can't be secured. The product should state there is a minimum disk thickness as well as the diameter and bore. (If you reverse the top clamp in an attempt to operate it safely then the cutting wheel clamp jams and you cannot remove it. £65 down the drain.)

Main bearing failed !
I bought this to cut patio slabs and, with the help of additional diamond discs, it did a good job. Very heavy but the slabs were on the ground so no problem. Not the sort of tool you use every day and a couple of years later I went to use it. It had been running for no more than a minute and there was an awful grinding noise. Checked it out and the main bearing had disintegrated! Guess what - the 2 year warranty had expired.......not happy and certainly won't buy another.

Not entirely general purpose
At least one other reviewer mentions this, but the clamp will not securely fix discs thinner than about 5mm. It has been designed with thick grinding discs in mind and not general purpose discs for cutting etc. as might be expected of such a tool. Indeed the manual is very clear on this - use for grinding only - but perhaps all angle grinder manuals have this caveat? You can subvert the clamp and get it to work but whether that is entirely safe practice you'll have to decide yourself. Otherwise soft-start and rotating handles are useful features.

Absolute rubbish
I bought this grinder on the 6th of September and by the end of September it had stopped and so I returned it, the replacement lasted one week and then it to broke. I have now given up on it and will never buy Ryobi again please don't waste your money on this cheap TAT!

That's better....
Having returned the Mac Allister one that I also bought from b and q and returned because sparks were coming from it I thought I would spend and extra 11 quid for something that would last longer than a few weeks. This seems to be doing the job well. I like that the guard can be moved by unclipped. I found the handle turned. But it's because I had pushed the button in. It's supposed to do that, which actually makes cutting blocks easier. Soft start always a good feature. Very pleased so far.

poor quality
should have researched more before buying. The locking key is very poor quality and bends really easily and if you put blades into say cut slabs they do not lock in as they are not as thick as metal cutting discs supplied with it.

Great piece of kit
The slow start is a great feature. I like the way the start handle can be adjusted for ease of use when cutting off steel bolts protruding up from the ground.

Weak wrench/key
The grinder is a decent enough bit of kit. It's on the heavy side for prolonged use and the wrench ended up bent the first time I tried to unlock a grinder wheel. No storage case, just the cardboard box it turned up in.
