Great looking and cheap switch
I was looking for a replacement switch for my lamp and this one fitted the bill...modern looking, easy to install and cheap...job done.

No earth
No earth lead connection. Managed to squeeze earth cable through inside but would have paid more for 3 connectors. Packet does not say two cable only

The plug is well made with good brass screw wire blocks. The case requires pressure, then screws shut.

Too small
This is a very small switch. Perfect for small cables like Xmas tree lights or a small table lamp. Very disappointed that it is the only inline switch in store as it is useless for anything other than this.

Very poor
This is for the screwless, click-together switch. It does not stay clicked together and the back cover falls off way too easily, not funny when it exposes live 230v terminals. Threw in the bin.

Poor quality and not as per photo
What I was handed by the manager of B&Q Farnborough was the only white inline switch in this flagship store, and it was the same price as above, so you do not necessarily get what is pictured here. The man was helpful, it was the item. What I bought had a smaller oval switch. It was very hard to undo the screws to open it, as they were so small they required a jewelers screw driver, and they were very very stiff too. I am a big bloke and I was struggling. Then inside the case, there were no clamps to hold the cable, and the power connectors were unusually small, and very difficult to access. I was trying to retro-fit this to replace an old one under the stairs. It should have been a very easy small job. Including the drive to the store, I spent well over 2 hours on this, before I abandoned the job knowing that the switch itself was so poor, it would almost certainly break anyway. I now have to start all over again. B&Q is falling into a bad trap if it starts selling the cheapest thing it can source. I don't want the cheapest, I want the best value but of a quality that enables me to complete the job. I am very upset about this because of the time it has wasted!
