Planers
Planers precisely remove thin layers of wood to create a smooth, even finish. While an electric planer can be used simply to reduce the thickness of a piece of timber, it comes into its own when hanging doors and constructing cabinetry. Here, the removal of a few millimetres of material can make a big difference when aiming to produce a perfect fit. Some models feature chamfering grooves to enable cutting of chamfers and bevels.
