A good replacement for a hard to find lamp switch.

I bought this to replace a broken toggle switch on a bedside lamp. B&Q were one of the only shops that had what I needed at a reasonable price. It was surprisingly hard to find a switch like this online, so it was great to see it stocked in-store. Unlike other reviewers, I have had no problems with this item; it feels solid and well-made. It was also easy to fit. Perhaps there has been a recent supplier change, as my switch looks slightly different from the one pictured online. The hole for this to fit through must be at least 10mm. Therefore, I drilled the existing hole slightly larger to accommodate it.

Pure junk do not buy.

Even before it self destructs, what the item picture doesn't show you is that even fully tightened, the metal screws protrude from the assembly unnecessarily exposing live parts. Beyond its casing. If the switch becomes loose then you've a potentially live light casing.

Does Not deserve even 1 Star

Purchased on 9/10/2019. It is unusable and unsafe. The connecting screws are in so tight they cannot be removed. The screws are also too long and protrude from the connecting blocks to make the switch electrically unsafe.

It popped!

Bought it to replace an ageing and inconsistently functioning switch Connected it correctly in the bulb holder then, when I operated the switch. After a second or two it went "Pop" and no longer worked. I threw it away.

Rubbish

Bottom falls out with repeated use. Switch falls apart

Works but only just

The screws are cross head' so my terminal screwdriver only just got a grip, but the main issue was the screw top. The thread doesn't run all the way through, making it very difficult to fit anything thicker than a papers width. Luckily I kept the top from the old switch which fitted OK. Got me out of trouble, but only just.

poor

Fitted to lamp, and after pressing the switch a couple of times, the back of the switch came off. It's fine if there's something solid for the back of the switch to press against, otherwise it comes apart.

Very badly made

I bought this product to repair a lamp and the switch fell apart in my hand whilst I was unscrewing the connectors
