did the job
The two lampshades I had were wobbly and therefore crooked - all sorted now...

Perfect
Saved me from returning a lampshade that I fell in love with. I’m very confused by the reviews saying you need to use two and sandwich the lampshade between them - you don’t. All you have to do is put the pointy bit through the lampshade spider (so that it rests on the flat bits) and screw it onto the lamp and jobs a goodun.

So simple!
Bought new light shades that needed reducers to fit, bought a few of these & used 2 per shade. Unscrew bulb holder & place 1 reducer either side of the shade (2 in total) & screw bulb holder back together for a solid mount. Although no instructions, just follow advice on here from other reviews. Happy Days

Needs explanation
I needed a converter for a new shade that came without one. These are designed for HANGING ceiling shades. However as I couldn’t find one for the table lamp we have I decided to buy two and sandwich the shade holder between them then clamp it in place on the holder. Not particularly elegant but you can’t see it and it will do the job.

Why in packs of 3 ??????????
Does the job perfectly well. However there are no instructions how they are to be used so it was by trial and error that I found out that 2 are needed per lampshade. They are sold in packs of 3 so if I had of had two lampshades I would have needed to go back again for a second packed, which I would not have been happy about. The question you have to ask is why on earth are they sold on packs of 3???????

totally different as the description
What I received is totally different as the description. There is no package on this item but wrapped with clear tape. What I want is a white clean reducer but see what I received.

Not complete
You might expect everything you need to fit a lampshade with a large fitting to a small fitting but no, just one reducer per packet. Enough to do half the job!

No indication on the packaging that these only work for ceiling lights with gravity. The lamp shade is then loose and can be easily knocked, particularly with low ceilings. You need two of these for a table lamp to clamp the shade above and below and it would be sensible to do the same for ceiling lamps too. Odd that B&Q sells them in 1's and 3's. I'm having to make another trip to buy another two so that I can fix my pair of table lamps.

Poor product description
Bought today and is of no use whatsoever. Sits loosely over the larger diameter and so doesn't hold the shade at all. No good for a side lamp, not that great for a living room shade either to be fair. Why not just sell your shades with UK standard lamp fitments?
