Not as effective as Nitromors
I bought this to help strip varnish from a table as there was no Nitromors in stock. It was fine but not as effective as Nitromors. I also prefer the green if Nitromors as I can see the coverage more easily. Perfectly acceptable but I’d be unlikely to buy it again.

Paint Stripper
For me personally this was quite painful to use. Much dirtier than using a heat gun and a very slow process having to wait 15/20 mins every sq/m

The product does what it says on the tin.
I had to remove two layers of a well known coloured garden furniture paint & underneath was yacht varnish, sanding in between coats of paint panther. Yes, after much elbow grease it worked its way through the layers. Each application took about 20 minutes to bubble up. It is superior compared to own brand paint stripper.

Did what I needed
I used this to remove varnish, and it was easy to apply, and did a great job. Ensure you keep windows and doors open as it obviously has strong chemical odour.

I do not recommend
I do not recommend the product, it is completely ineffective. I put on several layers but it still did not remove the old paint

Effective Stripper
If the 'how to use' instructions are followed without deviation, Barrattine paint and varnish stripper works almost as efficiently as the older, now banned from sale, products did. Can't comment on Lacquer removal effectiveness though.

Effective Stuff
I was looking for some Nitromors from my local B&Q, and as it turned out they hadn't any on the shelves. So I was left with Hobson's Choice namely to try Barrettine Paint, Varnish & Lacquer Remover. To my surprise his product worked just like the old formula Nitromors paint remover used to do. So it does the job and definitely gets my vote!
