This Bemis New York white toilet seat features a soft close function, meaning that it will close slowly and quietly when put down. The seat is made from moulded wood and comes with Ultra-fix® fastening system and silentium® adjustable chrome tuck-under hinges.

- Use a 13mm spanner to tighten and snap the bottom portion of the STA-TITE nuts
- Fittings & fixings included
- Comes with STA-TITE® fastening system and Silentium® adjustable chrome tuck-under hinges
- Wipe clean with a soft damp cloth, using just soap & water, taking care to dry hinges thoroughly. Never use scourers or abrasives as these will damage the product surface, ensure seat & lid are raised when using bleach in bowl

Quality finish and sturdy
Picked up two of these to replace existing ones for a customer, they already had one the same installed which was chipped so wanted replacement along with another for the other toilet. As they had already got this one installed they opted for the same as it was good quality, I had seen these but never installed this brand previously so first time using them. I found them easy to install and very robust and sturdy once fitted. Good quality finish to seat/lid and solid hinges. The snap off fixing is a good idea as you know it’s tight enough once the plastic nut snaps if it doesn’t it’s obviously not tight enough! Overall decent quality and I would recommend these.

Seat became stiff to operate
A week after installation the seat and the lid became very stiff to close and began emitting a loud metallic screeching sound. I contacted the manufacturer and they advised me to put a couple of drops of washing up liquid (fairy) on the hinges. Fortunately this cured both the stiffness and the screeching with both the seat and the lid operating as expected.

Solid seat
I bought this to replace an old seat. This is a solid seat which is worth the cost.

Only good for Females.
Seat cover stays up no problem but seat is on an angle thus making it difficult for males. Seat cover gentle closure is fine, so fine for female only use.

Can’t fit the seat to the pan!
Can’t fit it to the toilet! It has a nut fixing under the top of the pan (porcelainosa) but there is no access to the area that the nut has to go. The old seat could be fitted with only access from the top. Returning the product after the new year.
