Not as well made as it used to be.
I bought this because it would be easier to man-handle than my larger version for small jobs. This Workmate is made in China - no surprise there - and has some issues. Firstly, the clamping vices once assembled overlap each other at their ends - see photo. Secondly, the two 8mm threads in the frame for securing the fixed clamp would not accept the bolts so I had to use an 8mm tap to clear the threads. This all points to a poorly manufactured product that is overpriced and that some purchasers may find difficult to assemble.

excellent product
i had the original workmate 30 years ago and am still using it. i bought this one so can use them as a pair for larger jobs. The bench is easily assembled, well made, realy versatile and useful for all diy jobs and can be stored flat when not in use. so good i now have 2.

Black and Decker Workbench easy self assembly.
Just what I was looking for, only one or two places on line had one and much more expensive. Ordered and paid on line then went and collected within the hour. Ready and waiting for me. Great service as you come to expect from B&Q.
