Loft storage stilts allow for storage platforms to be built above insulation, whilst preventing the insulation below them from being compressed and ensuring that the cavity remains at the recommended minimum depth of 270mm to maximise energy and cost savings.
- Prior to installation ensure your structure can support the additional loads stored on loft storage stilts. Loading limit of existing ceiling structure should be confirmed by a structural engineer. To avoid overheating always ensure that exposed electrical cables are not covered by insulation. Keep insulation clear of exposed light fittings. 1) Position loft legs at widths to suit the panels you will be using to board your loft and screw through the base plate into the joists to secure. 2) Lay out your insulation to the desired depth. 3) Lay your boarding panels on top of the platform and screw into position to secure.

Works well for purpose intended.
Works well for purpose intended. Raises boards above insulation avoiding compression. Secure for storage which its intended for. Not recommended for walking on which makes sense. Walking areas I built timber frames to support boards.

Trying to buy some more, but uncomfortable in doing so as I don't know if I will be getting the same item as some pictures show what I previously purchased and some show a different design and I don't know if the specifications have also changed.

Discontinued???
This product has been discontinued so shouldn't be available on the website. The replacement has the same product code but is 4mm lower, so any flooring done with the old stilt will not match up with the new one

This product does NOT have the clip on the base
Warning: This product does not have the large clip on the bottom anymore - the ones in my local store (Weymouth) are labelled with the same product code as this listing and are almost identical to the legs you can buy in a pack of 12 (product code 5063022105912) which are shown without the clip. I guess the supplier has changed the design - supplier on box states Kingfisher :-)
