i bought this metal bar a few weeks ago & it was perfect for what i required it for.

Drawn Steel Flat Bar does the job
I selected this product to roll into a circular hoop that would fit snugly into a carbon fibre tube with the two ends butted together. Then I could drill some holes through an end cap I had that fitted over the outside of the tube then continue the holes through the tube wall and finally through the steel hoop that I had made. I then tapped the holes in the steel hoop with an M4 thread, and ensured the holes in the cap & tube wall were large enough to clear some M4 screws. Now I could hold the cap on with the screws, but easily remove it for access to the internal parts.
