Useless instructions

Nice roller blind, but the instructions are useless. Instructions tell you 5 separate times about the need to fit the safety device, but say absolutely nothing about how to cut the blind and the roller to size to fit the opening of the window, without which you’re not going to get as far as fitting the safety device. In addition, the brackets that need fitting at each end of the roller are not designed for a typical UK home installation. They assume that you either screw upwards or outwards into the frame. Modern UK homes don’t allow either of these - above the window is a steel or concrete lintel which resists drilling; outward into the window frame is unwise for PVC or Aluminium framed double glazing. The direction which should be used is horizontally into the wall either side of the window - but the brackets have no holes to enable this. In future, we will plan to use made to measure blinds - cost more, but way less hassle fitting them.
