Sidedoor Bob - 3 / 5 - 30/01/2025

Banana door

Pretty solid and easy to work with except that is was warped. About 2" out at the bottom. Side door to garage so not a disaster, but disappointing

Replacement gate

I bought this gate to replace an old gate, it was reasonable priced and of good quality for the price.

OK but could have been better

Having chiselled out and drilled the hinge rebates on the door and made small adjustments to its dimensions, I was able to try it for fit. It was only then that I realised just how warped it was top to bottom. In the paperwork inside the shrink wrap the manufacturer clearly states that the door should be stored flat, yet in B&Q this and similar doors were all stood on end leaning to one side. The construction of the door left gaps either side where the T&G strips met (or didn't meet!) the uprights. The T&G's needed pinning to hold them securely in place before applying a bead of external sealant. Apart from a lack of attention to detail, the construction of the door was OK. it's had two coats of Ronseal Super-Flexible Primer undercoat followed by three coats of Ronseal 10 year top coat. All are water-based paints which don't fill me with confidence but we'll see how the door and paint perform over time.

Good solid door at reasonable price.

Fitted my requirement exactly. Needed to replace a side garage door and this did the job.

Bowed door

This door was delivered to me on Saturday 19th August 2023 when the carpenter came to fit it it was terrible bowed and took 2days to fit it is still not right and I wouldn’t by from B&Q again as they should have noticed how bad it was and should not sell such rubbish if we didn’t have needed it as we had got rid of our original door we would have had retired it never buy this door so bowed out of shape
