Good solution for new carpet!

Good Hinges-RUBBISH Screws
I bought these to make my door self closing. screwing in the screw made the head loose the crosshead-so could not remove the screw in or out. Cheap screws ruined it all and I had to hit 2 screws in with a hammer. Will never be able to remove screw again. BUY YOUR OWN HARDENED SCREWS.

Variable manufacturing quality for these, had to exchange to get a straight set, but works well.

Oh no
Purchase a couple of dssets to replace the previous brass coloured ones. The holes are in different places. Makes replacing a nightmare. Why are the holes in these different from the previous same applies to the both left and right hand. Then when I went back I found one pair that was different to both pairs the holes were in line. If you are using for the first fitting they would be OK.

Bit crude design but were low price
Needed for a door to clear a hall carpet runner, But design is pretty crude in that the socket bit is too baggy and the rising movement on the spindle tilts a bit under load only giving about half the rise expected when the hinges have no load on them. I suspect I need to pay a lot more for more precision jobbies. A bit ugly compared to standard hinges as well. Had to replace with a shorter runner instead.
