This walnut wood varnish from the Colours Indoor range can be applied to interior using a brush. The varnish dries in just 30 minutes and will cover 4.5m² per litre on average.

Good value
Purchased to colour/varnish a number of wood boxes I made to hold small engineering parts. The finish depends on the colour of the original wood and the number of coats applied. I put on three light coats sanding between each and the finish was great. I will not hesitate to buy more

Brilliant product
Although this does come out darker than the colour on the tin, it’s exactly what I wanted. When you first open the tin, it’s looks to be a grey/purple colour. Make sure the surface has been sanded first. Use sparingly to avoid streaks & away you go. As you can see on my pic, I started out of with a really light scaffold board. After two coats it had already turned quite dark, don’t be put off by it’s initial colour in the tin. Doesn’t leave a shiny finish so grab a top coat or clear gloss if that’s what you’re after

covers more than you would think
This small tin did cover more than I thought it would but I found the finish a little streaky even after the recommended 3 coats

Colour was nothing like the tin
The colour sample it shows on the front is nothing like the colour of the varnish. In the tin it’s like a charcoal grey varnish, and it goes on really dark. I have to now resand my wood and go and buy more and start again

Good coverage
I bought this varnish to do stair rail and bannister. Was a bit worried as shade on tin was light and I wanted dark walnut. When I applied varnish it looked grey although dried to the colour I wanted which was a lot darker than example on tin. Good coverage and easy to apply
