Absolute rubbish
It barely changed the colour of fresh pine, I shall be returning this if the store will take it back. The edges have had 2 coats, the middle is bare pine. Spot the difference competition?! Expensive and not good.

DOes what it say's on the tin
Bought this to stain skirting boards and archtrive. had to use three coats but it has dyed the wood briliantly and is a good match for the existing wooden floors and door frames.

Antique Pine Wood Dye.
I bought this dye as I wanted to add some colour to some new pine moulding, instead of a runny coloured dye which I was expecting, out of the tin came a thick gooey substance, applied this to my moulding, hardly any colour change at all. Will be returning for a refund and will not be buying this makers products in the future.

Rubbish coated to the old one
Talk about making a product worse. This is absolute rubbish compared to the old product. Hardly any colour and requires gallons for a small job. Avoid.

Good product
After reading the other reviews on this product I was a bit concerned over how good the finish would be. The reviews stated that this product being water based wasn't as good as the older version which was solvent based. I have used this product before in the Georgian Mid Oak and English Light Oak colours which worked fine. I checked them both and found that they were the water based stains so I decided to go ahead and buy the Antique Pine colour to stain a stair banister and some rails. The product works fine giving the pine banister and rails a light honey pine colour which is what I wanted as the staircase is enclosed. As with the other stains I've used it's easy to apply with a cloth and gives a good finish with a very light sanding in between coats. It is light coloured but it is an antique pine stain and is supposed to be light in colour especially if it is used on pine itself. If you want something slightly darker I would try the English Light Oak which I've used for a counter top with good results.

Awful !!
If I could give it no stars I would. The other reviews are spot on. I also had the old tin, bought a few years back and this is nothing like it. When I put it on I might as well have been putting on clear varnish, hardly any colour at all. I needed it to match everything else in the house already dyed. It comes out of the tin like a very pale cream texture unlike the previous dark liquid. Took it back, got a refund, searched online and found some old stock for sale. Currently doing my skirting boards as we speak and couldnt be happier. Wont be touching this refined stuff again !!

When is wood dye not wood dye
I had an old can which was insufficient for the job so brought this. The only descriptive difference on the tins was this one added the word 'Refined' The contents of this tin were a creamy colour and not a darker liquid colour like the original I had. Coverage is pathetic, The quarter tin I had left over from previous use covered nearly 3.SqMtrs, and a quarter of this new tin less than 1 SqMtr. I will be sending a complaint to Ronseal and won't be buying any other product of theirs anytime soon

very poor
This is extremely poor quality. We have used this for years on all the wood in our bungalow but a recent purchase was very disappointing. Enquiries of the manufacturers reveal this is now water based. It is appalling and a complete waste of time and money. WILL NOT BUY AGAIN!
