Hard Work
It's extremely thin and runny. The first coat was downright awful with streaks, runs and poor coverage but when I put on a second coat I found if I put on a very thin layer and let it get almost tacky it was much easier to use and the coverage problems were much better. It looks like it's going to take another couple of coats to get what I want though!

Easy to apply and rich colour
This is easy to apply, but be careful if splashes are a problem. I love the rich green colour which has a soothing quality!

Cuprinol Ultimate Preserver
I first bought this product 18 months ago to cover a new verandah. The first coat only stained the wood slightly but the second coat - wow! The colour came through (I used Spruce Green) and the verandah was transformed. Lovely Rich depth to the colour and after 2 years still looks amazing. Just bought another tub of this preserver to treat the new pergola and arch we’re building in the spring. Thoroughly recommend.

Gorgeous dark colour.
Used this before and wouldn’t use anything else. Easy to apply with a standard brush and s dark rich colour achieved straight away. Covers even tatty old fence and lasts years before another application is necessary.

easy-peasy
We used this product ten years ago on a new good-sized shed and although still sound thought perhaps it could do with a spruce up. So my husband of 76 who is not of a practical bent, totally un-enthusiastic, and without d-i-y skills applied two coats using a small disposable roller. Job done in a day, and we reckon he'll never need to do it again. Recommended!

Coloured water!
The worst fence preservative I've use. Poor coverage, consistency of water runs straight off the fence and onto the ground. So far put 4 coats on and still terrible streaky finish. Went for the most expensive hoping it was the best. Back to B&Q value range next time.

Great Final Result after application problems
I have been using a Cuprinol spirit based paint in the past to paint a planned wood shiplap clad timber shed. This is the first time I have used a water based one. The final result looks great, however I found I had to review my application frequently to ensure runs, bubbles and unevenness was dealt with before it dried too much. Suggest review of formulation and application characteristics and adjust.

spruce green
Easy to use, good absorption rate, be careful it really needs a good stir as the colour stubbornly stays at the bottom of the tin.Hope it does what it says on the tin as it's a bit pricey.
