Product information

Smaller than some dahlias, but no less impressive with masses of burnt orange blooms contrasting with deep bronze foliage

  • Planting location: Beds, borders or in patio pots
  • Soil moisture: Moist & well drained, Soil pH: Any
  • Flowering period: July-Oct, Planting period: May - June
  • Hardiness: H3 - Hardy in coastal & relatively mild parts of the UK (-5 to 1°C)
  • Plant in a sunny spot. Dig soil improver and bonemeal into the planting hole before planting. In heavy clay soils add horticultural grit to the bottom of the planting hole. Do not attempt to plant these bulbs if the ground is frozen or during freezing conditions. Remove faded flowers to prolong flowering. Water well during dry spells. When foliage has died back, usually after the first frost, cut stems back to 5cm above soil level. Not winter hardy. To over-winter, dig up the tubers and store them in a cool, dry and frost-free place. Replant in the same way next year.

This product is disappointing

I bought this product 3.4.23 and potted the tubers up immediately in the greenhouse. The tubers were shrivelled and have taken a long time to produce any shoots. I have growing this variety many times before and know what a quality plant it can be. Looks like the tubers I have purchased will not make quality plants this year!
