Slugs Away Barrier Gel from Defenders is a non-toxic, colourless, odour-free gel that provides an effective barrier against snail and slug damage in gardens. It can be used in both wet and dry conditions. It is suitable for use around children and animals, including birds, dogs, cats, hedgehogs, foxes, causing no harm should they come into contact with the gel. Each application of this product lasts up to 2 weeks. It is recommended that you check the barrier regularly and replenish the gel as and when needed. Ensure that there is no way slugs or snails could bypass the gel, for example by fallen twigs or overhanging growth. The gel comes in a 650ml bottle and is easy to apply. On first use, unscrew the top of the bottle and peel away the safety seal. Replace the bottle top, open the cap and apply a continuous barrier 3-5mm wide enclosing the area in need of protection, preferably 10-20 cm away from the plants themselves. Close cap after use. If the nozzle becomes blocked, wash with cold water. Use whenever slugs and snails are active or before damage is expected or observed
