Good product

Good robust plug at a reasonable price. Handy guide to correct wire lengths made wiring plug very simple.

Not the safest of plugs

The cable clamp is useless, the plug cover becomes brittle below 5 degrees C. The cover is not held on securely with its screw, It looks nice....but may be dangerous not the quality expected from B&Q.

A plug amongst plugs.

If you want an action plug able to express its full authority over an electrical appliance then you need the Orange Diall 13A. The brilliant bright orange of this plug lets all those who use it know that it means business. With a fuse, three sticky out metal bits some plastic and a hole for your cable, this plug has it all. Put excitement into your electrical life and purchase the Diall 13A Orange plug.

Rubbish

Bought as an alternative to the benchmark durable plug (name begins with "D"). Whilst the materials and construction are fine, the cord grip is utter rubbish. It's a "pinch rather than clamp" grip and therefore useless with the larger cables that one would expect to use in a robust plug.

Cable restraint broke

Bought 10.12.20. Nice plug but cable restraint is made of stiff, unbending plastic and broke when I tried to push the unstripped cable into it. Needs to be clamp with two screws - and robust.

As described ! Easy to connect.

A fine example of the electrical connector and a tribute to the artistic temperament of the designer. One day this will be collected as a classic.

Looks OK, but take care...

For light-duty cables, the plug works fine, although it'd benefit from meatier wire-clamp screws. Medium to heavy cables completely defeat the cable-restraint, which is made from virtually inflexible plastic and so can't adjust sufficiently...not well thought-out or tested. BTW, I'd recommend deleting the absurdly OTT 5-star 'rating' - a smile, but not to be taken seriously!

A masterpiece of plug design

Yes I bought this plug. It ranks as one of the world’s most beautiful electric coupling devices. The colour, the shape and texture makes it so identifiable as a plug. However, this does not reflect the wonders inside. You can feast your eyes on the beautifully crafted screws and the brilliant brass work - not to mention a fully operational 13 amp fuse. This is plug to be proud of. I seek it out whenever the appliance it’s attached to requires power. It was so good I even took the plunge and bought it a companion. Then I realised they required a mate. So my heart strings were pulled and I had to buy two sockets to match. Now I look forward to having a garage full of little plugs and sockets charging around.

Not for thicker flexes

I tried to put this plug onto a 1.0mm 3-core rubber-covered flex (bought from B&Q), and I had a devil of a time squeezing the flex between the jaws of the flex-grip. A traditional flex-grip, with two screws and a plastic bar would have been more efficient. Also, the brass clips which hold the fuse are pretty flimsy. My plug had one bent when I opened it up. Go back to those plugs you sold before... Permaplug, though they were sold as B&Q brand... They were head and shoulders above these bargain-basement contraptions.
