Product details

Product information

This matt emulsion will help you to achieve a perfectly white, patch-free finish on ceilings. When you begin to paint it will appear pink in colour, which ensures that you cover every part of the ceiling evenly. It is formulated to fade from pink to white in under one hour. At B&Q we want you to be satisfied with your colour selection. Not all monitors will display colours the same and paint tins may not show the same colour as your walls do in natural light. We therefore recommend you order a tester pot online or pop in store to pick one up so you are sure that this is the right colour for you.

Good paint

Great paint, does exactly what it says on the tin. My husband is colour blind and even he can use this and see where he’s painted.

All ways use this paint for ceilings

Brilliant paint for ceilings so you don't miss anywhere the only downside is B&Q are now a bit on the expensive side you could find the same product elsewhere a bit cheaper

Vital for white on white repaint

Good product, I'd be lost without this when repainting white ceilings

Barely pink and for a few minutes

As other reviews have noted, it's barely pink and unless you are painting over a contrasting colour it's a struggle to see it. I was quite surprised at the speed it went white too, literally minutes. It is however very thick and pretty much splatter free, even with a roller. The coverage figure is perhaps slightly optimistic but not far off. Might as well buy ordinary ceiling paint and rely on the wet sheen, it lasts longer than the pink and it'd be cheaper. Won't buy again.

Ceiling paint to make your life easier

Bought for painting bedroom ceiling - nice sheen to it and the pink tint makes it so much easier to see where I've painted and where I need to touch in. Painted walls after my ceiling and was able to easily wipe off errant paint marks from the wall paint, leaving my clean sheen white ceiling to look fresh. Good finish - it's why I always choose Dulux!

Brilliant Product!

I bought this to paint our living ceiling with. It's prefect to see where you have been and dries a stunning white! I wouldn't use ordinary paint again on the ceiling.

Great product but not pure brilliant white

I noticed that one of the comments from 6 years ago said that it went on very thin, but I found quite the opposite so I wonder if they have changed the formula. I found the coverage to be excellent and only needed to apply one coat. The pink also worked really well and was a real time saver as I was just changing the room from a slightly different colour of white, particularly helpful for repainting the ceiling and definitely worth the extra money from my perspective. Saying that, I agree with the comment that this is not pure brilliant white, which I couldn't tell until it dried. The name "Magic White" should have given it away, but I just assumed that it would be pure brilliant white. It has a slight grey undertone. Photo attached, but it is difficult to tell from the photo. I don't particularly mind, and probably would choose it again for the reasons above, but I would have liked it to be clearer that it wasn't pure brilliant white.

Dries Grey!

Just used this in my hallway. Against the white woodwork and other white wall it looks pale grey. Definitely not brilliant white. I’m going to see if I can get a refund. I’m going to have to repaint the whole ceiling. Also didn’t see much of the “magic” pink effect before it dried.

Same as white paint but worse

The pink in this paint is practically invisible, I didn't find it any easier to paint than with plain white and is overpriced for what you get. The coverage is not excellent and it is not even a particularly brilliant white.
