Perfect for a solvent-based interior varnish which gives a tough & durable finish. it can be used over bare wood & previously stained or varnished surfaces, this clear varnish from the Dulux Trade range can be applied to interior using a brush. The low odour, non yellowing varnish takes 6-8 hours to dry and will cover up to 16 m² per litre on average.

They changed the formula, now it's bad. Really bad
I used this product (the satin version) on an almost daily basis in the past, it was superb, went on really well, was a rich golden colour, dried in a couple of days to a rich satin finish. Then they changed the formula. Now it's a light purple colour, thicker, takes much longer to dry. The finish of the satin version is awful, it's like plastic. Really shiny and just nasty. Doesn't sand as well either. No matter how you apply, the result is very similar to a waterbased finish, it's just bad.

Really brings out the beauty of the wood
Exactly what I wanted for that golden reflective finish. You can't beat polyurethane varnish on wood. I can't testify to it's durability, yet, but if it's anything like the old Ronseal diamond hard then it should be good for many years. Easy to apply with a good brush, and only 2 coats needed, with a light sand before the last coat. The smell isn't too bad, for an oil-based product, but you must ventilate the room. And the price was really good, thanks B&Q for a great offer.

Matte varnish drying glossy
Gave this 3 coats, matte varnish and it dried full gloss. Not like I’m an amateur and don’t know what I’m doing - stirred the paint till I nearly knocked the bottom of the tin out, applied with a top quality brush, laying it off with the grain …….so annoying, had to return to site and use a better grade of lacquer that actually did what it said on the tin😡😡😡😡
