Don’t expect to plug ‘n’ play
I agree with what’s already been said by others (Wynrol) which is a very comprehensive write up. One important thing to add is that on ours, the measurement bar on which the blades are mounted was not properly centred on the scale. As a result, each individual blade rotation would have been offset and could have caused havoc. The shaft had to be turned through 90deg to correct it as the original position was already countersunk in order to lock it in. Oh, and make sure you re-tighten the blades between cuts as they can move under all the vibration (CT Newbury electrician)

Really excellent hole saw with dust cowl
I needed to change out my old downlights for new slim LED lights. Read the reviews and decided to buy this unit. I have other hole saws, but the dust cowl was a winner for me. Worth pointing out a few things about the unit before use, as there are no instructions with the item. DO NOT assemble the spring as shown in the picture. The spring fits between your drill and the cowl on the outside. Not on the inside of the cowl as the photo shows. For hole cutting in plasterboard, change the cutters from the ones fitted to the sharp pointy ones. The ones fitted when you buy the unit is for wood. There are 2 x allen keys supplied as well as 2 x drill bits. I got 2 x masonry bits but suspect I should have had 1 x wood and 1 x masonry. But this is easy enough to replace. The large thumb fly nut at the end of the arbour goes anti clockwise. So you need to remove the fly nut and spring, insert the arbour into and through the hole in the cowl, then replace the spring and fly nut in an anti-clockwise direction until the fly nut can't travel any further on the arbour. Ensure all allen screws are tightened on the blades and those for the arbour. The cowl is a solid bit of perspex and every part of this hole saw is of a very high quality. Also worth mentioning it's worth going at very slow speed to start and then continue at a lower speed. It sliced through the plasterboard with ease. As I was cutting out larger holes (in the same location as the old smaller holes), the drill bit didn't have anything to get purchase, so I got my daughter to push the cowl hard against the ceiling and I did the same with my spare hand. This allowed me to get the new holes cut without the blades jarring in every direction. Also worth mentioning there is accurate measurement marks on the cutting blade bar, so setting the blades was simple without having to measure up the blade opening. Wish I got one of these 10 years ago.
