Modern Eggshell is Farrow & Ball’s toughest interior finish, adding colour and protection to wood, metal, and concrete surfaces. This ultra-durable eggshell is tough enough for floors, and it can also be used throughout the home on skirting, doors, kitchen cabinets, furniture, and radiators.
- Suitable for use on Metal, plaster & wood surfaces
- Instructions for Storage - This product is water based and should be protected from frost and extreme temperatures. We recommend using within 6 months of purchase and are unable to accept responsibility for the deterioration of contents or packaging after this date. This product contains preservatives to protect from spoilage under normal conditions. To minimise contamination and provide maximum shelf life we recommend that the product is decanted into a clean paint kettle before use and all tools are thoroughly cleaned before and after each use. Repeated opening and use can increase the risk of microbial contamination; therefore we recommend keeping this to a minimum to maximise the shelf life of the product.

A sense of summer in our hall. Just as we wanted.
Chose this over Skylight but it was a difficult decision. Just love the colour.

Sample pots helped me determine my colour scheme
The sample pots are just great. I am decorating my whole apartment and by buying the sample pots, I was able to test my colour scheme and how well the colours toned with each other. I am painting my lounge area and guest bedroom in Elephant’s Breath, my hallway in Cromarty and my kitchen and master bedroom in a pale blue. I wasn’t sure whether Borrowed Light or Skylight was the right blue for me. By testing the two from the sample pots, I determined Skylight was the right choice for me and am thrilled with the results. The sample pots are true to colour and really do give a flavour of the end result and assisted me to be confident in my choices. The depth of colour achieved by using Farrow & Ball paint is beyond comparison.

Really brightens even the dullest room
This is a gorgeous shade of blue that lifts a dull room into a light and airy space. We decorated a bedroom that gets sun early morning but is then in the shade. I am amazed at the difference changing the paint colour has made.

Lovely blue
A lovely, pale blue that changes with different lighting. The coverage of the Modern Emulsion is excellent and meets with the approval of our painter and decorator. (Most important!!)

Great Color tones in light
Perfect color for sunroom- beautiful pigments and light makes the color shift into lovely tones. It looks crisp with the white ceiling and trim. It. went on easily and cleaned up easily.

Revitalised bedroom

Beautiful color deposit but too dark
Lived the color but looks much darker than what I thought. Paint felt soft on my wall and deposited color well.

A She She Dream
I purchased Borrowed Light for the ceiling of my she shed and my husband now wonders if I’m moving out there for good. It makes the space so dreamy and I’m in love!
