Best paint I've ever used
Absolutely gorgeous multi-faceted color, refined and sophisticated. Easy, consistent application with minimal streaking. Looks different and still great in all lights

A little bit goes a long way.
Pelt was the perfect color for my vanity project without having to mix colors myself. I was able to purchase three samples instead of a gallon. The samples were very small yet I was able to finish the entire vanity and mirror with stool with only two sample cans.

Dead flat is not dead flat
I ordered a sample of pelt (254) dead flat paint. I was sent estate emulsion and so I assumed that they were the same. I used the sample and had what I thought were very good results. So I went to the paint shop in Norwich where they mixed dead flat for me. Only when I got home and used it did I discover that dead flat and estate emulsion were not the same; in fact estate emulsion looked to be dead flat while dead flat has a slight gloss. My wife and I preferred the finish of the estate emulsion, so I discarded the 7.5 litres of dead flat and bought a 5 litre tin of estate emulsion. That looked very good until anything touched it. If you wiped the wall gently with a duster, it removed the chalky finish and a glossy patch appeared. Repainting a large wall every month is impractical, let alone costly. So this colour paint is no use if it is illuminated by daylight at any time.

Statement colour for built-in unit kitchen/diner
Decided to use this bold colour in my kitchen-diner. Paired with Stirabout on the walls. It is a dynamic colour that changes in various lightings - looking deep and moody in poor light and bright and fun in sunshine (great for a kitchen with garden access). Glad I was brave and used pelt.

Not good coverage
Bought a tester as I've never used F&B before. I was surprised and disappointed that the paint wasn't thicker. I know it's not advertised as a one coat paint, but I still hoped for something with more body. The colour is lovely though when you manage to get full coverage.

Modern Emulsion very different colour to tester
The Pelt tester (Estate Emulsion) was a great colour, so I went ahead and bought a 2.5 L tin of Modern Emulsion, as the paint was for a bathroom. However, the Modern Emulsion is a completely different colour - clearly visible when you have both tins open side-by-side, as well as when painted on the wall. The Estate Emulsion tester was a very dark purple, with grey and reddish tones, like a much darker version of Brassica, which we've used before and love. In contrast, the Modern Emulsion is a very vivid purple, with blueish 'Ribena berry' tones and not what I wanted. The room is north-facing and quite dark, but the paint still looks really vivid on the walls, when I was hoping for muted/grey tones. Definitely not 'almost black', as the website suggests it looks in certain lights. Such a shame as the tester pot and sample card were exactly the right colour. Don't know why F&B don't do testers in the different sheens/finishes, given how different they look on the wall. Very frustrating. Photos include a couple of the tester, painted onto a sample sheet of A3, to show the difference, although hard to capture on a phone. The tester looked the same on the wall as on the paper

Worst paint I've ever used in my life
This paint holds fingerprints. If you get anything on it, good luck wiping it off with anything not even water. It will leave a water stain. Painting it on the wall was a nightmare. Streaky. Splotchy. And yes, I used primer under coat. It still required two coats, which meant I had to buy another gallon of paint. I painted one singular room. You can see marks all up and down the walls from the paint roller. Unfortunately, I've used/opened the paint. So no refunds for me. Just $300+ gone to waste. I expect better performance given the price.

Rich and creamy
It is the first time that I used F&B and I am in love. I painted my bathroom walls and ceiling in pelt after a colour consultation. The pant is like cream and the pigment is unbelievable. It glides on the wall and the slight sheen (modern emulsion) is perfect. I painted the walls with two layers of topcoat and the result is a deep and elegant purple. I love it!
