The Focal Point gas inset remote control fires feature a reliable battery powered control system (using AA batteries). The Remote will allow you to adjust the height of the flame and to turn the fire down to the pilot light or completely off.

Features and benefits
- To turn the fire on from a cold start you must manually use the rotary control located at the base of the fire
- Once alight the fire can be turned up and down during use and then down to the pilot light only feature when the fire is not in use
- This keeps the pilot light running until you are ready to use when you return to the fire, where you will be able to turn the fire back up from the remote control if you leave the pilot light running in between use
- To ensure a safe installation, your gas heating appliance must be fitted by a qualified gas installer (Gas Safe registered in the United Kingdom or Bord Gais registered in the Republic of Ireland) who should also verify the proposed site conditions are fully suitable for the product selected

Difficult to control
This is a nice looking fire and throws plenty of heat out but very difficult to control by the remote it’s basically on or off it won’t ignite unless you leave the pilot light on all the time so it’s down on your hand and knees to turn on or adjust, if I could return it I would but a fire is something you can’t wrap up and return. Always take note of the reviews

pilot is to strong very loud and uses to much gas .remote control slow to repond.not user friendly

Don't be fooled this is not fully remote control
I bought this for an elderly customer who asked for a remote control gas fire as they no longer could get down to light their existing fire with manual controls. The only part that is remote control is the size of the flame, ie you can turn it from high to low via the remote control. You still have to light the pilot manually by getting down and turning the control knob on the front of the fire. I can't see anywhere that tells you it is not fully remote control unless I missed something on the website description!!! I've given a rating of fair as the fire worked ok and was delivered quickly but apart from the fire was a big dissapointment to me and my customer. I've been fitting gas fires for years and this is the first one that is remote control with a manually lit pilot!!!! Just shows you get what you pay for these days.

Remote control feature is fantastic,
This was brought specifically for the remote call feature, no longer ha e to kneel on arthritic knees to light fire. Easy to use and good heat output, looks good too.
