Bad coverage and different shade to the wall paint

I bought this to paint some built in wardrobes to match the wall colour (same name but the wall and ceiling version). The colour doesn’t match and the paint was horrible to use. The coverage is really bad and the consistency is really difficult to work with. It’s like painting with pva glue. It’s really thick but then starts to run down. Better off getting another brand paint, dulux has much better wood paint in terms of coverage and consistency and not much more expensive either.

Disappointed

I bought this product to paint my wardrobes which were first undercoated. When I came to use this paint over the undercoat it crizzled & would not cover . I then purchased another make of eggshell with which I had no trouble at all. The only downside was that I really liked the original colour and had to settle for white

Awful awful paint!

Dear oh dear this paint is bad. I bought this in store, knew it wouldn't be as good as other more expensive brands but thought sod it I'm sure it'll be good enough, just might need to do an extra coat on top of usual 2 coats. Now I've only done one coat so far but I've just seen all the other reviews and I can understand exactly what everyone's talking about. It is sooo bad. It doesn't stick! It drips while it's drying! It is so so uneven! It's infuriating! If the devil made paint, this is it. I agree with the other reviews: B&Q should not be selling this. I think anybody saying they had a positive experience with this paint must either have zero experience with paint or perhaps somehow received a different formula of paint in their tin. I've seen people say that it used to be ok but is now awful so I think the formula must have changed. Anyway, lesson learned... read reviews before buying and just spend a bit more on the good stuff- it's worth it!!

Great

Used to paint bannisters. Held up so far! Sanded first and looks a lot better! Needed 1 or 2 coats

Great product. No complaints!

Bought this product to pain skirting boards, door frames. Slight sanded the wood down before applying 2 good coats. Looks fresh and doesnt crack, peel or flake. A great cheaper alternative to Dulux and other more expensive brands.

Couldn't give 0 stars, AWFUL STUFF

As others have mentioned, this 'paint is completely unfit for purpose, I simply wanted to paint a window, I was painting new Alberta off white over the existing off white paint, 5!!! coats later and the original off white is still grinning through the new paint!!! Surely sonebody must test this rubbish, or even read the reviews and check it out??? But no, its still on the shelves trying to catch people out. B&Q, throw it all in the bin for gods sake

Longjohnboyo - 1 / 5 - 28/07/2022

Very poor

Please don't waste your money and also your time buying this paint. The dreadful, thick consistantsey means that the paint 'drags' as you apply it leaving an awful finish. Had to leave to dry and sand down. Will now have to buy a different branded paint to finish project. B&Q need to remove this product from their shelves.

But seriously! don’t bother!

Lovely and creamy to apply and love the colour, earning this paint one star, but the coverage is appalling! so, unless you’ve got nothing else going on in your life and are prepared to spend your time adding coat after coat after coat after……..I’d look elsewhere!

Terrible "paint" - avoid

Terrible paint, it's amazing how bad this is, brushes on like cottage cheese, roller is no better. Runs but also firms a skin after a few minutes so if you brush over a painted section it rips that paint off and forms clumps. The maker of this paint cannot possibly have tested it and the negative reviews prove this. Avoid, I wish I'd read reviews before wasting money and time on this utterly useless product.

Decent paint for the price

We bought this to go over old, dark, varnished wood and honestly thought it was decent paint considering the price. It's obviously not the highest quality but if you take your time with it it's fine. We didn't use primer but just sanded the wood right down with a hand sander, then went over once with finer sandpaper, and painted straight onto that. Did two coats and left it to dry for a day or two in between coats because we weren't in a rush, and it looks fine. Go for higher quality paint if you're looking to complete a quick project, but for the price and what we needed this for it's fab. Definitely needed two coats but with leaving for a good time to try in between it looks smooth and even. Overall, I'd definitely buy this paint/brand again if I were doing a similar project in future, but if I were in more of a rush with no time to prep the surface by sanding or no time to leave to dry between coats then I'd go higher quality.
