This GoodHome Furniture Varnish has a low odour, quick-drying formulation that provides a long lasting, black satin finish and highlights the natural woodgrain.
- Perfect for enhancing and protecting wooden surfaces or adding a splash of colour to unfinished wood.
- Suitable for Wood
- Surface Preparation - Prepare the surface by removing any previous coatings and loose, flaking or peeling coatings completely. For bare wood lightly sand to remove any loose fibres. Use a cloth dampened with white spirit to remove any dirt, dust or grease.
- Instructions for Use - Apply evenly in the direction of the wood grain using a brush.

Like tinted water
This is honestly terrible. It’s like painting with water that has food colouring in it, can see if every brush stroke even after 2 coats. I’ve used it on 3 surfaces, all of which have been sanded and prepped and not one of them looks close to good. Would need about 6-7 coats

Stained a chair
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Had an old dining chair that I didn’t know what to do with, it didn’t match my current set. Honestly couldn’t tell you where it was from. Sanded it down and painted the back with this. Really impressed with the results!

Brilliant gloss
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This gloss is just amazing, everything I was looking for. It doesn’t smell to strong, dries quickly and it just glides onto the surface with no streaks or splatters. I have pained my windowsills and they look absolutely amazing now. Brilliant paint.

Good quality varnish
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Good home black gloss furniture varnish.So we have an oldish TV cabinet that is nice but was in oak effect, which doesn't match our current decor, we've got everything black to contrast white carpets. So although only 250 ml size can, I set about sanding the cabinet then applying the black gloss. The effect was better than expected and the wood grain came through nicely, managed 2 coats and still a bit left, so good value for money. Recommended.

Perfect color and coverage
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Our stair banisters are wooden and we decided to paint it in black - this wood vanish is over my expectation. It so easy to apply, absorbing in wood perfectly leaving deep black color without any patches. Perfect gloss finish when dryed so smooth and perfect coverage. Can deffo recomend who want to paint wooden surfaces as it perfectly covering, giving high gloss, quick drying.

Glossy Black
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Got the 250ml for ease of storage and as I was only working on a smaller surface area I didn't want the risk of the paint drying if I only use a little bit. Very easy to use and multiple applications really bring out the gloss effect.

Great gloss
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Got this to try on a piece of furniture I had that I wanted to change to black and it goes on really well and smooth, it took me 2 coats to get a clear smooth finish but overall didn't take too long, not watery at all and is very good if your going to up cycle wooden furniture thanks

Smoooooooth
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I decided to upcycle my small wooden side table with this varnish and it worked great. The coats went on really smooth and dried reasonably quickly. Can be wiped away without stains if done really quickly. No signs of wear and tear yet. A good recommendation.

This leaves a lovely even finish
