Good Home Cancun gloss

After undercoating the door we moved on to the final gloss. Amazingly when the tin was opened instead of the expected cream paint we saw a lovely duck egg blue. Before our first reaction to return the item as faulty my partner checked the reviews and found it is correct and when stirred will change to the required colour. So off I went. No change when I took my first breather or second for that matter. So the big guns came out. Never before have I mixed paint with a stick blender but after another 10 minutes we had it We won’t use it again, stirring paint is one thing but this is ridiculous

A quick-dry gloss that is actually good.

This GoodHome gloss paint dries hard and is re-coatable within 2 hours (the can says 4 hours but at normal room temperatures this appears unnecessary). Nothing new there for a quick-drying paint but when it dries it does manage to achieve a decent gloss Finish. Don't overspread it but do over-brush it - a finishing very light brush perpendicular to previous brush strokes to flatten out the surface allows surface tension to do its job and produce the gloss finish. When it's thoroughly dried it has has a very acceptable resistance to wiping with a water soaked cloth. Not the cheapest paint (and not sure why it is only available in 750ml cans) but a single can will do about 3 normal doors with two coats. However, you really can get away with one coat if what you are painting over is quite bland. At which point it becomes extremely good value and quick!

A Fantastic Neutral Colour

I was sceptical after reading some of the reviews on here to be pleasantly surpised, i bought 3 tins for a project at home, I asked the store assistant to open one of the tins to show it was indeed the correct colour. A week later we started our paint project to find the colours had separated. Not to be deterred a quick five minutes with an 18V drill and an old egg whisk and we were in business. The paint went on with ease and was quick drying. we painted over some old magnolia coloured a paintwork and skirting with 2 coats and it was perfect. I wouldn't expect miracles if you were painting Bannister rails or areas with high contact as it is after all a water based gloss but for the price you cant go wrong for a pleasing neutral colour, we also purchased the matt emulsion and its a perfect colour match on walls, ceilings and skirting. very pleased overall.

Shock when opened!

I bought this and when I opened it it was blue! I stirred and stirred but it didn’t really change colour! How long do you need to do it? Having read the reviews now I realise it’s a common problem and will be returning it. Have used Delaware colour and it was great. Disappointing.

Won't be buying again!

Was shocked to see when lid was removed a bright blue colour paint! After looking online at previous reviews, I found out you apparently have to stir to blend the paint to get the true colour. We'll it took me at least half an hour of stirring to get nowhere near to the colour it was supposed to resemble. However, having said all this the coverage is good and I'm pleased with the finished look, albeit a different shade to what it was on the tin. Would I recommend it........NO! Would I buy it again........Most definitely not!

Gorgeous colour. Really happy

I bought this paint to refurb a large wooden cabinet. When you open the tin it looks like a bright greeny blue. You have to stir it really well but the paint is a really nice beige/nude/cream colour.

Do NOT purchase this paint!

The Cancun shade when opened revealed a turquoise blue shade inside and on the lid! After spending time stirring it slowly becomes a cream shade but whilst applying the paint in the can shows blue swirls! After one coat it's like a shade somewhat like duckegg blue has been painted. Even a second coat shows no improvement. We took the first can back and was given an exchange but will now have to spend more time having to purchase a superior gloss product like Dulux/Crown. Worst paint ever used!
