Rubbish item screw holes were to big.
I bought this and had to re build this using my own screws and other items.

Great replacement
Have bought 4 units over the last month and found them to be a great replacement for an old kitchen easy to put together and do the job really well. Had already replaced the doors and drawers beforehand so needed something that fit with them. Very pleased with the result.

Needed a Sink Base Unit
Needed a base unit as the old IT unit had slowly come apart. Unit was easy to build and install. Appears to be a good quality solid base unit, did the job!

Not worth the effort of buying and making it
The instructions were hopeless. 20 pages included every type of unit you could buy. So very confusing. The individual parts were drawn so small it was impossible to identify which end to put in leaving us to attempt a trial and error approach. We had intended to glue the unit as we went for extra stability but as we had to take it apart and re-do so many pieces that approach would not have worked. The instructions did not tell you before you started that you needed an electric drill and a spirit level as well as a hammer and screw drivers. We were putting it together away from home so we were unprepared for this. The 1,000 cm is too large to cope with the flimsy fittings and so we are left with something that looks awfull and has no integral strength. I would be suprised if it lasted a few months. Really save your time, effort and money,.and don't bother with these units.

B&Q Please do something to help!
So glad I get to review this and hope that B&Q will respond with some appropriate action! I thought the unit was reasonably priced until I l realised the doors and hinges have to be bought separately - mentioned somewhere in the small print and with absolutely no information as to which ones f fit the pre-drilled holes. In fact, search for concealed hinges on B&Qs site and it’s not clear what hinges are compatible with these units at all. I agree with others on here that the instructions are an art in sign language and could be improved no end if parts were labelled “inside Top” “Left panel” “right panel” etc. Because this unit is designed to be used as a sink, hob, corner or regular base unit it has as many holes in it as a fisherman’s net so you have to work out which ones apply to you. All that said - when put together it’s actually pretty impressive for what it is. It’s sold. It’s accurately cut and the panels seem dense - ie solid! I’d actually give the finished product 5/5 but I’m deducting marks for making it take longer to understand the instructions than to actually put it together - and for the fact that I can’t find anything describing compatible hinges on diy.com!

Instructions are very poor
This is awful to put together and the instructions are generic ones that are instructions for a variety of cabinets and you have to 'pick out' your bits. Not easy to follow at all. Will not be buying cabinets from B and Q again. Old cabinet was fine but this one was not as it was not until the last piece was in place that it held together at all and when you had to turn it it all slid about!

Avoid unless you can get one with the old fittings
What on earth has b and q done with these units. I had a whole kitchen done with the caraway units with no problem. Purchased a 1000mm wide base unit for my sisters kitchen and after 3 days trying to get it to stay together I'm having to admit it's beaten me. They have changed the metal fixing dowels to ones with a plastic coating a bit like a wall plug. These no longer lock into place so the minute you try to move the unit they just pull out. I'm hoping gluing it together might work as unfortuatley I'm now out of time as this needs to be fitted tomorrow. If I could give no stars I would. Avoid unless you can get one with the old fittings.

Got it built despite the instructions /looked good /however chip board splintered and broken within a couple of months. Not strong enough

Good Product for price
A good product for the price however the instructions are for several different ways to use it like a sink unit or a cupboard. The instructions are just picturial & not easy to understand which makes building the unit a slower prosess than it need be if better building instructions were provided.
