Decent Quality
A good match for the Swanley dark oak laminate. I’m not a fan of the fixing system of drilling into the floorboards, a screw down track would be better. The back is self adhesive which I ended up using, time will tell if it stays stuck down.

wood effect threshold
I didn't actually lay it so cannot comment on any difficulty that occured but I the floor layer didn't make me aware of any problem. It matches my flooring so well and I am very pleased with the finished product and the cost was well worth it.

Fait le travail
Simple à poser

Joli mais fragile
La pose se fait relativement facilement, mais le décor est fragile. La barre se raye facilement et laisse apparaître la couleur aluminium du support.

Looks nice, awful fitting, awful instructions
Title says it all really. The finish is nice but whether the vinyl wrap over aluminium lasts, only time will tell. The instructions are a little vague as there are parts in the packaging with no indication what they are for. The plastic pins provided for a standard fit are flimsy. They are also really hard to slide into the trim itself. This also didn't work for one of my rooms as where you have to drill is the end of the floorboards, so basically if you have a gap you cannot use this product. The previous version sat on a plastic strip. Nice finish but wouldn't buy again.

Poor quality fittings
I have always previously used the B & Q plastic 'Colours' threshold strips without any problems. Stick or screw the retaining strip down, measure & cut, choose your clips, click, job done. If you needed to decorate, the strip easily clicked up for removal then re-use. This item & design doesn't seem to be stocked anymore, so I was forced to choose this now stocked design. (B & Q seem to have re branded lots of flooring and accessories as 'Good home' ). Nicely finished wood effect aluminium strip, that's the end of the good news ! Poor quality, flimsy ribbed clips slide into the back of the trim, wobble around, and fit into a hole which you need to drill where it will be fitted, then tap it down with a block of wood. If you are not careful the plastic pin will bend as you tap it down into the hole, you will not then be able to tap it down any further as it has weakened and has a bend in it, you will then not be able to remove it without breaking it! This also means you will not be able to easily remove the trim to replace a carpet or to decorate, rendering it a single use item. Only 4 clip/pins are provided and in my opinion a stiffer clip/pin should be supplied, and more of them. (I class myself as a professional DIY person).
