brilliant toilet seat ....... but!
I personally had no issue fitting, but I am pretty good at DIY, the fitting is tight but needs to be to stop movement, you can also replace seat going forward as the fittings can stay and put new brushed steel caps that come with new seat. One issue I did have was with water etching on the plastic, either from flush or the bad aim of me! It occurred to me as an enthusiast for cleaning cars, I wax to protect the paint and ad oils to paint finish. Water etches fact. So I applied some normal car wax to the surface when new to prevent this, simple. The wax didn't leave any marks for information. Some may argue you shouldn't need to do this, but the seat is not ceramic it is plastic and pourous.

Washer up people
This soft close seat works perfectly. I needed to utilise washers from the previous seat though, as the screw plugs wouldn’t have worked otherwise. As they are essentially to a universal fit, I think washers either need to be included or mentioned as likely to be needed.

Confused
Reading previous reviews I was sceptical about buying this but I have to say it was very easy to install. Now I can’t understand why so many people are having trouble fitting it unless they are fitting it wrong. However one thing I can agree on is that it shows every little mark as the plastic isn’t lacquered very well so the finish isn’t that great. Still worth the money though.

poor quality
bought this seat 2 days ago, my grand daughter craked the lid in half as it was down and she sat on it, she is 8 years of age and not very heavy, this could have been a lot worse than it was and needs looking into, b&q have turned into a budget store

Don't bother
Doesn't stay in place when sat on. Clicks into place as per instructions but pops on when any weight is put on it. Can't return due to hygiene policy, which if its the wrong size or you don't like it I understand. But if the product is clearly faulty and not functioning as it should then I think this should be reviewed.
