Not so happy
This product scratched with anything you move around

not fit for purpose
The 3mm top veneer layer looks great but unfortunately the soft wood that it sits on is so flimsy that any minimal kind of flexing very quickly breaks out the upper very thin joInt. Once this starts on even a small portion, it follows on to each successive board. I made a good job of laying mine throughout two bedrooms a living room and hallway just over a year ago and it started buckling eight months on and now over a year on it sounds like increasingly loud snap crackle and pop wherever one walks. I'll have to redo the whole thing at great effort and more expense. Heartbreaking doesn't even cut it.

Really good value
Have used more expensive wood flooring previously, but this one looks as good and is easy to lay

It' fine and does what is says however........
Before I bought this flooring for my hallway I spent some time researching the options and ordered various samples from both online sellers and high street retailers. Where I could I found a few flooring stores where I was able to walk on a finished floor as well. I knew I wanted a real 'oak' floor and not a laminate 'impersonation' and also many blogs suggested engineered is better than solid and 'click' flooring is easier for a DIY fit so in the end I opted for Gosford which was good value against these criteria. When installed this flooring went together really easily and is well made. It was laid on a 3mm foil backed foam underlay. My problem however is that once finished it felt and sounded like a 'man made' floor and did not have the solidity of real oak which is what I wanted. Also it was quite soft underfoot which is of course what you get with foam underlays, and I am sure for many folk this then ticks all the boxes. This is not a criticism of the product at all and is down to me and how thorough I was in matching my expectations to what is on offer out there, however I'm afraid this wasn't for me so somewhat painfully I have subsequently bitten the bullet and now replaced it with solid 18mm oak planks, glued and nailed to a very well prepared and 'flat' subfloor. The result is amazing and it now sounds and feels like a solid oak floor. So I guess what I am saying is, there is nothing wrong with what B&Q are offering here, but be sure in your mind, exactly what you are wanting to achieve and what your expectations of a real oak floor are. The replacement was approx. 30% more per metre.

really like this flooring, but....
I spent ages choosing my flooring, Gosford is now down in the hallway and I think I made a good choice. The guys who fitted it gave it the thumbs up, I love the 'friendly' colour & visitors seem to like it too. I attach a couple of photos.... as you can see even the cat admires it! The BUT is (as previous reviewers have said) I have worked through the packaging etc. and I still have no idea how to clean this stuff. There are NO CARE INSTRUCTIONS!! This is a worry because being in the hall it's already got marked & I don't want to do the wrong thing. As has also been mentioned, it looks 'unfinished'. It's lovely but it's 'matt' and appears as if it will easily get damaged. Is there something I need to do now it's down? Do I varnish it? Do I seal it? Or can I just leave it as it is? I think we should be told. This product has a 30 year guarantee, which is great... but if I claim, are they going to say it's null & void because I didn't treat / seal the product as I should have done? Please can someone advise... otherwise I am overall very pleased with my purchase.

Fantastic quality for the price
We bought this flooring to replace carpet in a house we purchased. We didn’t want to spend much as we intend to fully renovate in a few years. We were so impressed with how the floor looked that we may even keep it post renovation!

Great product
I had flooring this professionally fitted in the bedroom, really happy with how it’s turned out. The wood is oil treated however for extra protection I used liberon hard wax oil in satin. I would definitely buy this flooring again.

Surface treatment?
We selected this product because it had the right 'look'. It was fitted by professionals, so if there were any problems, they weren't ours!. It looks great now, but how durable is the surface? The product information is lacking. No mention of 'oiled' in the online description, but it does say 'oiled' on the pack. No suggestion in the web description or pack that another coating should be added. IS the surface really 'oiled'? Now it's down it is hard to tell. The surface looks sort of half-finished. One review here mentions " Ronseal diamond hard satin varnish" with a great photo, but is that compatible with an 'oiled' surface? I've failed to find a help page on the B&Q website. Please B&Q, give consistent and useful information, and host a query page for your products. And please respond to this review with advice! (ideally before the furniture goes back into the room).
