Up and down.
It's a toilet seat, shell shaped and goes up and down. Leave it closed when not in use ( mainly advice for men, but not exclusively). Little fiddly to fit but ok for competent diy'ers.fod1

Discoloured within in a week
The toilet seat is very sturdy and would be great value for money but it started to discolour within the week after we purchased it. If I hadn’t thrown the box away I would have returned it.

Doesn't fit properly
I bought 2 of these, assuming the first one slipping around and then splitting was my fault for maybe over-tightening the fittings. Second one is exactly the same. Doesn't fit flush to toilet and comes loose daily. This one split also so has a big crack at one side. Wouldn't buy again.

Does not cover toilet properly
Not big enough to cover toilet so looks a mess, all B&Q toilet seats have the same fittings so none are going to fit our toilet (which seems a standard toilet to me). This will have to go back. Waste of time.

This product is perfect
Forget the review that say's it's wobbly. Every toilet seat wobbles if not properly fitted. You just need to ensure that the pins fit into the seat, left & right, as far as they can go (up to the hilt). In my opinion, the fittings are the best I have ever used.

Wobbly
No matter how much/many times I tighten this seat it wobbles all over the place. Just off to get a refund. Utter rubbish, do not buy!
