This product when applied does not produce a grey

I bought this varnish for an upcycling project on a bedside cabinet. When I applied the first coat it came out as a blue-grey tone which I thought was down to applying this onto a light brown wood. After applying 2 more coats to the cabinet, it is still a blue/grey tone, not this ashy mid brown the tin shows. I have given this two stars because although it is the wrong colour, it does cover fairly well and drys quickly, but would approach with caution if you are wanting a slate grey look or a varnish with no noticeable blue undertone.

It’s not Grey

Done three coats to darken it down and it’s still light blue

Looks nice but it’s blue

If you’re expecting grey as the name and sample image suggests you’ll be very dissapointed

Disappointed

Very blue and definitely isn’t anywhere near the colour it says it is.

Colour is not as described

Applies fine with a reasonable finish however it is not the colour the label or sample in store suggest. It is a much lighter and has a very distinct blue tint regardless of light source.

Covers well

Great colour covers well I gave it two coats and that was enough

Lovely varnish

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I used this to upcycle a wooden bookcase. The varnish went on really nicely and didn’t take too long to dry between coats. I applied twice which seemed to have done the job and left a nice finish and great coverage.

Fab finish

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was surprised that this little tin goes a long way. The paint goes on really well and it leaves a great finish. This is great when your wanting to paint your wooden furniture to give it a new lease of life

Upcycled my bedroom drawers

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] 250ml was a good enough size for me to unicycle some old croaky large picture frames I had in the spare bedroom looking a little sorry for themselved. A couple of coats of this paint in the Mid-Grey Satin shade and some paint setter and they've been given some life. Looks fantastic even if I do say so myself lol! I used an underprimer to prep the wood beforehand but the paint itself went on lovely and smoothly with only a few little streaks here and there. But that's to be expected with paint, isn't it?! Now I want to see what else I can get my hands on haha!

Good paint

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I got this in a deep grey to paint a wood topper for the top of my toilet cistern. The colour is lovely and the paint applied very nicely. It had good coverage and with a decent paintbrush you had very few brush marks. The only thing I didn’t like was that it took a while to dry but I suppose that’s pretty normal for satin paint.
