GoodHome Tough & Durable Matt Emulsion is suitable for use on any wood & metal surfaces, but it's ideal for use on the walls and ceilings of high traffic areas in your home, because of its covering power and highly resistant formulation.
- Guarantee - Statutory
- Surface Preparation - New plaster or plasterboard should be sealed with a plaster sealer. For non-powdery surfaces or to cover contrasting colours, prepare with a walls and ceilings primer. Painted surfaces should be sanded, clean and dry. Fill any holes or defects with filler. When sanding, wear a face mask to avoid dust inhalation. Before painting on bare wood or metal use a suitable primer. Painted glossy surfaces should be sanded thoroughly
- Stir gently before use. Apply using a brush or roller, when the temperature is between 10°C and 30°C. For best results, apply 2 coats leaving up to 4 hours between coats
- Instructions for Storage - Store any leftover paint between 5 and 30°C. Best used within 1 year of opening

Not so good
Lovely colour but not great paint. 3 coats and still comes off with the slightest touch

Very good coverage and a lovely colour
I've never used GoodHome paint before, usually using a brand that has an Old English Sheepdog as its mascot, but I was searching for ages for the right colour (I spent more on testers than this tub of paint cost) and finally found this. Having read other reviews, I did a quick test patch using the big pot of paint as other's said they'd found a difference in colour between the tester and the product. They were right, there was a definite difference, as my photo shows, the blue at the bottom is from the tester pot, but the greyer shade at the top is from the big pot and is actually a lot closer to the colour on the label of the pots. Luckily I liked this grey colour even more than the blue shade. When I opened the tub to paint my bathroom, I mixed it well as there were some spots of blue pigment showing on the surface, but they mixed in very quickly and the paint was lovely and smooth and creamy to start with. I know this isn't a "bathroom" paint, but as most of my bathroom is tiled, the small amount of remaining surface area would make buying even a small pot of proper bathroom paint a very expensive option. As I want to paint my dining room this colour as well, I thought I'd get the Tough & Durable version, decanted off the amount I thought I'd need for the bathroom, and then used some "anti-mould additive" to convert that small portion into a bathroom paint. The additive mixed in well and didn't affect the colour or consistency at all. The paint itself was lovely to work with. It has a nice creamy consistency, it pours well into roller trays and settles out quickly. It went on the wall great with both brush and roller and didn't spatter or spray when being rolled like some paints do. A little seems to go quite a long way. I did 3 good coats in the bathroom and used about 1/3rd of a litre at most. If I get similar coverage when painting my dining room, then I'll be very pleased. At the current price and with the coverage and experience I've had so far, it seems to be very good value for money. I've added a couple of photos of the finished bathroom. Unfortunately it's very hard to get a decent picture because the bathroom is so small and only has a small window for natural light, so sorry about all the shadows. The tester patches were on the same wall as, but to the right of the mirror and cupboard, so they were a bit easier to get properly lit for a photo. Overall, I'm very impressed with this paint and as long as they have the right colour, I'll definitely consider using more from the GoodHome range in the future.

Second purchase
Previously had this paint and it was lovely to apply, colour fab. However, not sure if anything has changed, the colour seemed slightly darker and although I applied 3 coats there are streaks of blue pigment coming through, dissapointed with the finish. Think I will stick to a different make next time.

Great coverage
I was slightly cautious buying this paint after always preferring Dulux. However, I’m really impressed by the lovely texture and great coverage of this paint. Two coats and it’s totally covered. 90% covered in first coat. The colour really changes in the light. It’s a lovely soft grey-blue in soft daylight. And looks moodier and deeper in the evening with electric lighting. It looks crisp and fresh next to brilliant white and soft with off-whites and creams. What’s not to love?!

Fantastic
I brought this paint but I was very nervous as only ever used brands but Toulon was the closest match to the wallpaper we picked, I was very pleased with the result and I will definitely use this brand again.

Different colour
Colour looks lovely in the book or these pictures. But when applied to my wall it was more grey than blue. Not the colour I wanted.

Paint
It was easy to paint with and covered well. I used tough for the stairs, and it cleans easily too. Apparently I need to have 50 characters for a review!

Bad colour match
Lovely paint, applies really well, colour looks nothing like it does on the tin - much too blue!

Love this product
I bought this product to paint my hall, landing and stairs and love it so much I painted my bedroom feature wall in it as well. This colour makes me so happy when I see it on the walls and is much better than the colour on the tin.
