Product details

Product information

GoodHome white furniture wax can be used to nourish your wood or to protect and enhance your painted furniture with a bleached, pale finish.

  • Surface Preparation - Ensure the surface is clean and dry before use. The surfaces in your home may have been painted in the past with paint containing lead. Special care must be taken when sanding or stripping these surfaces
  • Instructions for Use - Apply your wax evenly using a brush or lint free cloth. For a more opaque finish, build up layers to your taste, for a lighter finish it is possible to wipe the wax when wet within 2 minutes with a lint free cloth in the direction of the wood vein. For intricate mouldings use a small brush to best highlight the detail. Between layers, allow to dry for 1 hour and polish gently until the desired sheen level is achieved.

Does what it says on the can.

Great wax just the finish required on my doors and covers very well , not like hard wax so take care applying it as quite loose, my preferred method is a kitchen scourer and leaves a nice finish easier to apply than hard waxes and the price is very good.

Very disappointed

Absolute trash, completely unfit for purpose. As others have said, it's basically a streaky watered down white paint. Does not have the consistency of wax and is therefore very hard to blend into your piece. Looks like a dried in glue. Total waste of money.

Don’t waste your time or money....

Well unlike the old saying it does what it says in the can.....it doesn’t. Now I have the battle of getting it off. It goes on easy enough but the finish is awful. I would have got the same results with watered down emulsion but at least then I could have got it off easily. Please do not waste your time or money.

just like a white wash

poor quality goes on like white wash or watered down paint streaky finish and ifficult to blend. Don`t bother

Not to be used as a Chalk Paint Finish

This is not like Annie Sloan's finishing wax where it seals the work retaining the colour but filling the grooves to add age, depth and character. This is essentially a white wash paint.

Transform something in an afternoon!

I got an old ducal dresser, and painted this straight over with no pre-sanding. First coat I did with a cloth which was fiddly and messy and half of the wax soaked into the cloth. It's very runny, so beware! I did it outside and it dried very quickly, within minutes so beware incase you need to rub off. Second coat I used a brush and it was a lot easier and a lot better finish, especially in corners etc. Always go with the grain, you almost have to pull it across to get even coverage, much more than normal paint. Was a great white washed effect as opposed to limed effect but I am very pleased with the result.
