very bad quality

i would give this gate no stars if i could been up for 6 months back support rail has fallen out and nails or screws missing from support side rails very flimsy would definitely not recommend

Poor quality for the price

I bought this gate based on previous reviews, but having picked it up and got it home I was shocked at the quality. I have worked with wood in the past, and my gate has been produced using poor quality wood and very poor workmanship. There was big splits in the panels, nails that had missed the rail, nails that had gone through the rail. If I didn’t have a builder coming it would have been returned, so I have ended up fixing the mistakes and making it good - but not happy!!!

Sturdy gate at a good price

Very happy with the purchase! A very sturdy gate and at a price I could not match elsewhere. I particularly like the fact that it is in keeping with the look of my fence panels with horizontal slats. Per the comment from the earlier reviewer the reverse side of the gate is not as attractive as it has the bracing and framing on it. So if having two attractive sides to your gate is important you might need to look elsewhere. Consider carefully the hinge pack you purchase in terms of looks and mounting, the suggested pack is not ideal but does the job.

Always check

I picked this up on the day I moved house so I was very busy and not focused. Make sure you check it. Mine was very warped! Also don't bother with reserve and collect. It means nothing as you have to go get it yourself when you get there and there is nothing stopping another person from buying it before you get there. Gate looks nice tho (just sadly not as nice as it would have been as we didn't have the time to return it for another (plus it was the only one in stock)

garden lap gate

i wanted it to match my fence over the other side of the house. it has done that perfectly. there was a small fault of the last gate I have picked up, the manager has managed a small discount on it. happy with the product.

Grange Lap Gate 6ft Brown

In reference to the web information the product does not measure up being shy of height and width so if going with the view of possibly buying,carry a tape measure. The view should show both sides of the door. It would also assist viewers to have a link to possible accessories like hinges, bolt locks etc. Accessories that B&Q have. Sturdy and build quality is good. Bought the product and with accessories found hanging to be straight forward. Looking to treat wood before winter sets in just as a precaution and hope it fares well. Always good to go and see product. Finding it limited stock when I rang, the reserve and collect is a good facility, which was slightly overshadowed by store experience. Overall, enjoy the gate, not too over priced and build quality I found adequate. If I am invited to write a review in six months when the gate has weathered in, I would do so.

good value

This gate was the best quality I could find for the price and I am very pleased with it. It was easy to hang and made from good solid wood. Excellent value.
