Very good quality - worth the premium price
I whacked this in with a proper sledge hammer (not a rubber one). Normal stakes would have split, but this pole is very well finished and took the necessary punishment to install it to a good depth. Very pleased. Worth paying a bit more for a quality product that gets the job done first time.

Quite expensive for what it is
I bought it because I needed it urgently. Good quality but have since found that I could have got it much cheaper at a local garden centre

Poles apart
So the pole has started to weaken on our patio umbrella (inherited when my father passed away). I started lookin round an lo an behold after a great deal searching for one, found this tree-pole. A clear case of "seek an ye shall find" (eventually). Had a good look at the ones in store before choosing the one I wanted. Knot free, no warping an consistantly strait. Well worth the money.

Cheap and functional
The pole was stout and easy to happen in. I used B & Q hessian strapping to tie it to the tree.

Quality varies
I spent some time going through the stock in my local store and eventually found two straight poles. Unfortunately, I didn't notice that one of them had lots of knots in it which, as soon as I started to hammer it into the ground, broke. I was able to exchange it easily as the staff in store could see the problem. Both poles were than knocked in with no problems. The poles are not cheap so should be of better, more consistent quality.
