• Plant in a sunny spot. Dig in soil improver and bonemeal with a good proportion of horticultural grit to ensure adequate drainage. For a summer-long display, plant at intervals of 7-10 days. Do not attempt to plant these bulbs if the ground is frozen or during freezing conditions Dead head regularly as flowers fade. Feed once a month during the growing season. Water sparingly and if growing in containers, leave to dry out completely over winter. Move containers to a frost-free dry place like a heated greenhouse to over-winter. Sparaxis planted in the ground should be lifted in autumn and stored somewhere dry and frost-free.
