What is the most efficient fireplace for heating?

When compared to central heating, fireplaces are less efficient at heating a room. So, if your client is faced with the decision of opting for a fire over central heating, they will be better off putting their radiators on to heat their home. Using a thicker fire surround can help mitigate some of these issues, as can using a smaller fireplace. Some electric fires also come with an effect only setting so you can enjoy a fiery effect without having the room being warmed. Placing the TV further up the wall can also help, but you may end up needing to move this higher than you expect so that it is less affected by the heat.
