Handy size to get through your loft hatch.
In old money, this roll gives you a 4 inch deep layer of insulation. That is perfect because many wooden ceiling joists are 4 inches tall, so you can add a first layer between the joists or a second layer across and on top of those joists or a third layer on top of that second layer. The current recommended depth of loft insulation is 270mm: since the insulation may compress a little through its own weight, three layers will give you exactly 270mm. After that, the benefit of adding more layers decreases. It's a soft material which you can tear or cut to fit your attic and a pretty cheap way to cut your heat loss.
