Good loft ladder and easy to install
I bought this product and fitted it myself a few weeks ago. My DIY skills are reasonable but I am no expert. It took me a couple of hours to finish, but that was partly because I didn’t realise the loft joists would get in the way when putting the ladder back in the loft. So I unscrewed it and refitted it in a different position. The loft ladder is reasonably sturdy and folds away nicely into the loft.

Great product for the price.
I would have given 5 stars had the holes on the side rail aligned. I could only fit two of the securing bolts to the side rail as the third was not there. Easily fix with a drill. Other than this little hick-up the ladder was easy to install and works very well in the limited space I had as the ladder had to extend within the limits of the loft hatch.

Mac Allister 3 section loft ladder
Ladder now installed, it was quite easy to do once we had worked out the final position as we had to raise the frame to account for all the loft insulation. This has meant the ladder is a bit steeper than expected. Ladder is strong folds and opens easily with the aid of the spring. Just follow the instructions and it will be easy.

very unstable had to get a replacement
useless as a ladder, rocked and slipped when i tried to go up it felt completely unsafe. In the end did not feel safe using it (neither did two other people who tried it!) so had to go buy a replacement ladder from elsewhere (which has worked fine) plus of course it had been fitted so could not be returned! so money down the drain do not purchase!

Standard ladder
These have doubled in price over the last two years, a standard aluminium ladder with one arm, this can cause it to be lop sided when stowed in the loft

Poor product
I cannot get the ladder down by using the flimsy rod supplied, I have to get a step ladder and pull the loft ladder down which is difficult and dangerous. I’m not happy with this item at all.
